Is karma a prison, or can understanding causes make a person freer? Annie Besant answers in two different books. Karma (1895), the fourth of her Theosophical Manuals, follows the making and working out of karma through thought, desire, action, character and successive lives. A Study in Karma, first published in 1912, asks how an unchanging law can coexist with human freedom.
Begin with the compact manual, then read the later study for its sustained argument about law and agency. They are different works, not duplicate editions or numbered volumes, and on Etsy they are offered together in this bundle.
