Bolton Hall wrote Three Acres and Liberty, first published in 1907, to explore how people might make a living from small areas of land. His discussion joins garden work to questions of land access, costs, marketing and cooperation. The early title page credits assistance from R. F. Powell and an introduction by George T. Powell. HIPS Books presents the early text with seven additional chapters from the expanded 1918 edition, clearly separated as a supplement. Hall’s prices, yields and practical advice describe his period, not promises of present-day income or tested modern farming methods.
